My Own Downtown - Crystal Torrez
Bartending can be a successful side hustle or a full time job.
It isn’t for those who wait around for directions.
Rock Springs resident, Crystal Torrez is a self-starter and a quick thinker.
When she wants to see Toastmaster Liquor and Bar fill up with people, she organizes fun activities and events locals and visitors can enjoy.
Recently, she masterminded Flock the Block, an end-of-the-summer block party on North Front Street.
“I’m already excited to plan the next one!” Crystal said.
Crystal loves to bring a crowd together in Downtown Rock Springs.
“I think Downtown will become bigger,” she mentioned. “More businesses, more local support and more events on both sides of the tracks.”
“Each place has history so everyone should give Downtown a chance and just let it all soak in,” Crystal added.
According to Crystal, Downtown has “a lot to offer” such as food, drinks, music and even pet supplies. Crystal has three dogs and three cats.
Crystal loves being the bar manager at Toastmaster.
“I wouldn't be who I am and where I am today if it wasn't for my boss Wayne Yedinak for having faith in me and for all my co-workers,” she expressed.
When she’s not working, Crystal likes to play pool and ‘pierce some eardrums’ with karaoke.
“You never know what could happen in Downtown,” Crystal pointed out. “You could make new friends and find a new place to call home away from home.”
…And that’s why Downtown Rock Springs is My Own Downtown.
