Jeannie Demas Named June Volunteer of the Month
The Rock Springs Main Street/URA is proud to announce Jeannie Demas as the June Volunteer of the Month. Jeannie is a dedicated member of the Rock Springs City Council and a regular volunteer for the Rock Springs Main Street/URA, particularly at the annual Sweetwater Blues n’ Brews festival.
Jeannie has an impressive career spanning nearly 41 years with the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office. She moved to Rock Springs in July 1983 and began her career at the Sheriff’s Office the following August under Sheriff Stark. As the eldest of four siblings, Jeannie has always demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and leadership. Her personal life is marked by simplicity and a love for the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and side-by-side rides in the mountains.
Elected to the City Council in November 2018 and taking office in January 2019, Jeannie serves as a liaison to the Tripartite Board and Sick Leave Committee, along with various City Council standing committees. Her commitment to public service extends beyond her official duties; she is an active volunteer at events such as Sweetwater Blues n’ Brews and the City-Wide Clean-up. Additionally, Jeannie serves as the treasurer for the Auxiliary Eagles 151.
Jeannie’s dedication to volunteering stems from her appreciation for giving back to the community and helping to make Rock Springs a better place to live, work, and play.
