The Forgotten Carols - Auditions
Audition for The Horizon Theater’s Christmas production of: “The Forgotten Carols,” by Michael McLean.
Auditions will be held October 6, from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Additional callbacks will be held October 7, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, by invitation only.
The Forgotten Carols will perform seven shows, December 8-9, and Dec 14-16.

Please prepare:
- 32 bars of a song in a musical theater style (about a minute in length).
- 30 seconds to a minute length of a monologue in any style, performed from memory.
If you are not interested in a lead role, but would like to audition for a smaller featured ensemble part, or the choir, please come with 32 bars of any Christmas song to sing for the directors.
Please have your music clearly marked for the pianist, or have a accompaniment/karaoke track available to sing with. Please no acapella singing.
If you have a resume or headshot those are welcome to bring at auditions, but not required.*The role of Uncle John has been precast, all other roles are available for auditions.
*Roles Available:
- Constance…….Young woman, a nurse. 20s-40s, strict and sensible, but with a softer side. Strong singer.
- The Innkeeper……The Innkeeper who turned Mary and Joseph away, Baritone.
- Dr. Halifax…..A doctor at the hospital where Constance works, nonsinging.
- Sarah……an older woman, soprano. Motherly nature, and a sweet voice.
- Lillian…..Constance’s mother, stern, and straightforward, nonsinging.
Featured ensemble:
Featured ensemble roles include a cabby, policewoman, homeless choir, family members, hospital patients, a jail clerk, and others, including options for featured singing roles and speaking lines.
