Downtown Dogs: They'll Make Your Day Paw-fect!

Last Updated 1/4/2021

Meet some of these furry companions

"Howl you doin'?" - It’s common to walk into businesses like Mack and Co Boutique, 623 Pilot Butte Avenue, and be greeted by a big, friendly dog like Ace. He’s a seven-year-old husky mix.

“Ace is very loved and a staple to the store,” Owner, Terri Mackley shared. “The customers love being greeted by him.”

She added, “When he’s not here, customers ask about him.”

Having a "ruff" day?

Pets help reduce stress. They make others happy and can even improve morale. Pets are also a point of common interest that can help promote an atmosphere of teamwork and communication. Our four-legged buddies can play an important role in social interaction.

If your pet has separation anxiety, bringing your fur baby will not only put his or her mind at ease, but your playful pal could also soften your business’s image. Customers might even applaud you for being more progressive.

Most patrons have a positive reaction when they interact with a pet. A pet can help them to relax and have an "ultimutt" shopping experience.

Cuteness without a filter

Lily, a 12 year old Kelpie, likes to help his human, RJ Pieper at New Studio Photography and Framing, 420 South Main Street.

Kelpies are known as medium-sized successful sheep dogs.

Pets stay active in Downtown

Athena from High Country Realty, 435 Broadway Street, likes to take her daily walks around Downtown.

Not only does exercise benefit the owner and the pet, but it also helps shy dogs gain confidence and become dog gone fearless!

I'll have a Black Lab Milk Stout, please!

Hannah enjoys Happy Hour at Square State Brewing - These days, dogs are considered family members and owners are taking them everywhere - including to their favorite "watering hole." Having a dog around can be fun for everyone.

How can we help you?

Cali and Daisy will follow customers and make sure they’re picking the right “bling” out at Daniel's Jewelry, 617 Broadway Street.

"I always enjoy the official welcoming committee when I go in to Daniel's Jewelry," local resident Ann Maria Mattila said in a Facebook comment.

Pets are valued in Downtown for their ability to improve the mood of shoppers and staff. If they could talk, they would probably say “Thanks ‘fur’ shopping local!”
