My Own Downtown - Southwest Embroidery and Scrapbooking
Connie Delp, Owner of Southwest Embroidery and Scrapbooking and her daughter-in-law, Amanda are the “customizing experts” in Downtown Rock Springs. They have been personalizing and decorating all kinds of fabric in Downtown Rock Springs for nine years.
“It’s very fulfilling,” Connie expressed. “You take pride in it and want to make it special. You give it heavy thought.”
They accept high volume of hats, coats, shirts, blankets, athletic bags, lunch sacks and more.
Usually, in two days, the customer gets their item back – this time with meaningful details.
According to Connie, embroidering is like a recipe.
“There are a few steps we need to take before taking that project to the machine,” she mentioned. “In embroidery, you have to be good at what you do, love it and the rest will follow.”
The ongoing events makes Connie happy to be in the Downtown area, especially Main Street Market because she can find unique items and catch up with friends she hadn’t seen for a while. Her favorite memories are Concerts in the Park, Halloween Stroll, Movies in the Park, horse and carriage rides during the holidays and all the people in general.
“We were excited to be in the parade one year and won!” she said.
Connie hopes newcomers and visitors will explore Downtown Rock Springs.
“If you haven’t visited Downtown in a while, spend the day walking, shopping, and have a great lunch here,” she suggested. “Enjoy the beauty Downtown has to offer.”
“Downtown is full of personal friends of mine,” she shared. “That makes it a special place to shop and easy to support them.”
…And that’s why Downtown Rock Springs is My Own Downtown.
