My Own Downtown - Cindy Camacho
It seems that many people have a love or attachment for their hometown even those who are not originally from here don’t want to live anywhere else.
Cindy Camacho, a Kansas City, Missouri native has been living in Rock Springs since 1976. According to Cindy, the hometown atmosphere has invited her to stay in our community for over forty years
“Rock Springs will forever be home to me,” Cindy expressed. “My kids and grandkids have been born and raised here. I couldn’t ask for a better place to have raised my kids.”
One of Cindy’s favorite events in Downtown is the Red Desert Rodeo Round-Up parade.
“Ever since my kids were small and now that they have children of their own, it’s always been one of my favorite occasions in Downtown,” she stated.
Cindy is a big supporter of small businesses in Downtown Rock Springs. “You would be hard pressed to find a friendlier atmosphere than you could find in our Downtown,” she pointed out. “Everyone you pass takes the time to greet you.”

Cindy believes more shoppers will support small businesses.
“It seems the last few years there have been some real changes for the better,” she mentioned. “If things keep going the way they have been, I can see many people forgoing the big box stores on the west end and utilizing the Downtown shops much more.”
...And that's why Downtown Rock Springs is My Own Downtown!
